This blog's name is based on a line from Dylan Thomas's 'Clown
in the Moon' - a strange and intriguing short poem which describes the earth as
a wondrous, dreamlike thing so delicate, ‘so sad and beautiful’, that it would
crumble at the slightest touch. I believe there's something of this intangibility present in how we inspire, and are inspired by, the world around us and in the fragile beauty of what is created.
I hope to explore this intangible essence as it is embodied in arts
and culture, whether reviewing and celebrating artistic triumphs, bringing forgotten
curios back to light, or simply noticing the good - and sometimes the bad – in how
we act to others, since it is through these things that we perhaps express ourselves
most truly.
